Ransom Adams, who joined the firm in 2018, began his career in financial services almost fifteen years ago and has been a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional since 2006.

In his work with clients, Ransom is dedicated to understanding their needs, goals, and fears, which he believes is essential for creating an effective financial plan in which financial goals and life goals are aligned. He focuses on helping clients with investment allocation, estate planning, retirement planning, minimizing tax liability and the various financial complexities life brings. Ransom works collaboratively with estate planning attorneys and CPAs to ensure that the various efforts are coordinated for clients. Bottom line for Ransom…clients come first and his ultimate message is, “It’s your money and I want you to be happy and comfortable with where it is and what it’s doing.”

Prior to joining Legacy One Financial Advisors, Ransom spent ten years as a Senior Wealth Manager at USAA. He holds a BS in financial planning from Texas Tech University, which offers one of the country's oldest planning programs. Ransom is an Eagle Scout and continues to be involved in scouting, and coaching youth sports. When not working, he enjoys travel and spending time with his wife and two boys.

Dale Cooper has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1973 and holds certifications as an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP) and Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA). He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Stephen F. Austin University and holds a Series 65 license as a Uniform Investment Advisor, as well as a Texas insurance license. A longtime proponent of setting and implementing goals, he applies his skills in this area to helping families and individuals plan their financial futures.

Dale has been involved with the Austin community for many years, serving on the board of the Austin Chamber of Commerce, as president of Travis County MHMR and currently on the executive board of the Boy Scouts of America—Capital Area Council, where he also serves as chair of the nominating committee.

Dale enjoys photography, golf and sailing in addition to spending time with his grandchildren.

Kelly is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who joined the firm in 2016. Born and raised in Austin, he returned home after college to work alongside his father in the accounting and advisory business.  Kelly earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Stephen F. Austin University. He holds the FINRA 7 and 63 registrations, as well as a Texas insurance license.

Kelly is an Eagle Scout and believes in the values instilled in him through the Scout Law. He continues to serve the youth of Austin on the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America Capital Area Council, where he serves as Past - Chairman of the National Eagle Scout Association of Central Texas, Co-Chair of the Sporting Clays Classic, and on the Disaster Preparedness & Response Committee.  He also serves as Vice President of Facilities for the Young Men’s Business League and Austin Sunshine Camps.

Kelly and his wife Kami have two young children, Liam and Ella. His growing family occupies a majority of his time outside the office, but he still makes time to hunt and play golf.

Michael Irvin joined the firm in 2016 as a partner and wealth manager. He strives to enhance client’s lives through debt reduction, improved personal cash flow, investment management, and effective planning for current and future financial needs.

Michael began his career in Dallas, as an analyst for Partners National Real Estate Group. He them moved to Little Rock to work as a commercial lender, helping businesses obtain financing for everything from simple working capital needs to construction of large real estate projects. Most recently, Michael spent seven years in commercial banking in Little Rock.

While in Arkansas, Michael earned his Master’s degree in business administration from the Walton College of Business at The University of Arkansas. He obtained the FINRA series 7 and 66 registrations. Michael was president of the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arkansas and also served on the board of The First Tee of Central Arkansas. During his spare time Michael enjoys spending time with his wife Lindsay and young daughter and son. His hobbies include bird hunting, fishing, and playing golf.

Mike Massey is a comprehensive wealth manager, providing clients with money management, financial planning and estate planning services. Mike’s background and training is extensive, with two Masters degrees (one in business and one in accounting), as well as a law degree. He passed both the CPA and Texas bar exams on his first try.

Mike has led thousands of meetings during his financial career. Prior to becoming a wealth manager, he was a wholesaler for various investment companies where he trained and educated financial advisors. Mike and his wife have been married for 13 years, and have four children, one of whom was adopted from Ethiopia. Mike loves God, his wife, his family, and enjoys playing with his kids, participating in sports, working out, coaching and serving others.

Prior to joining the firm, he worked in the oil and gas industry as an engineer specializing in data acquisition and analysis. This analytical skill set from his experience as an engineer is foundational to James' approach to investing and financial planning. 

James received his Bachelor of Sciences in Geology from Texas A&M University, and is currently a level II candidate in the CFA program.

Christi Van Rite began her career as a financial advisor in 2005, focusing on helping clients with long-term investing and generational planning. She works alongside her clients’ CPAs, estate planning attorneys and other advisors to ensure guidance and planning encompasses their entire life and legacy, not just the here and now. Christi is passionate about financial topics that impact people’s lives and uses her data-driven skills to help ensure that, regardless of whom she is working with, all aspects are taken into consideration.

Being involved in the local community, she has the opportunity to empower women both personally and professionally. She is an advocate for women of all ages to dream big and make a plan. Christi has served as president of the Austin Junior Forum, a women’s nonprofit service organization, fundraised for local nonprofits and mentored young women in the foster care system living at the Settlement Home for Girls.

Christi earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Texas A&M University and has completed the rigorous requirements to be a Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) and a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. She is a member of Texas Wall Street Women, the Financial Planning Association and a Leadership Austin Emerge Alumni.

Christi loves to travel, read and be outside, with paddle boarding or fly fishing in Arkansas, Montana and Alaska at the top of her list. She lives in East Austin with her husband, Wes, and their dog, Gabby.
